ABSTRACT: This study investigates the effectiveness of industry-sponsored scholarships in vocational sectors, focusing on their impact on student enrollment, retention, and success. The objectives were to (1) evaluate the current provision and impact of industry-sponsored scholarships on vocational education, (2) assess the benefits and challenges associated with these scholarships from the perspectives of students and sponsors, and (3) propose strategies to enhance the effectiveness and reach of industry-sponsored scholarships in vocational training. A survey design was utilized to collect data from scholarship recipients, vocational educators, and industry sponsors. The sample size comprised 230 participants, selected through a purposive sampling technique to ensure a comprehensive view of the scholarship landscape. The case study was conducted in Enugu State, Nigeria, known for its active vocational education initiatives. Findings revealed that industry-sponsored scholarships significantly improved student access to vocational education and motivated students to complete their programs. However, challenges such as limited scholarship availability and lack of awareness needed to be addressed. Recommendations included increasing the number and variety of industry-sponsored scholarships, improving communication and outreach efforts to potential recipients, and establishing clear criteria and processes for scholarship distribution and utilization.
